A two-year contract extension has been signed by Orange Business Services and Solidere, the Lebanese company tasked with the development and reconstruction of central Beirut, for the continued delivery of internet protocol television services (IPTV).
Operational since 2008, the Solidere IPTV service provides residents with a range of films, sports and on-demand high definition (HD) television programmes streamed over the Orange broadband network in downtown Beirut – part of the telecommunications operator's Smart City programme.
"Orange Business Services is delighted to renew this important contract with Solidere, whose flagship real estate development provides a showcase for IPTV and demonstrates the added value that ICT can bring to premium real estate projects," said Jean-Luc Lasnier, general manager Middle East & Africa, Orange Business Services.
"This contract renewal reflects the positive ongoing demand for IPTV services in more than 1,500 households in Lebanon's most prestigious real estate project. In addition, it serves as a model for delivering TV and viewing services to other smart real estate developments across the wider region."
